Born in Hokkaido. Completed the Graduate School of Arts, University of Tsukuba. In 2001, Stayed in the United States and the United Kingdom as an overseas dispatcher of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Visiting Scholar, Pennsylvania State University. Visiting researcher at the University of the Arts London. Visiting professor at the National School of Fine Arts (École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts) in 2018. Major work presentations / solo exhibitions: Kawaguchi Museum of Contemporary Art, Tanaka Isson Memorial Museum, Zoller Gallery, USA, Century Gallery, London, etc. Group exhibitions: "Contemporary Japanese Art Exhibition" Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, "Vision of Contemporary Arts" Ueno no Mori Museum of Art, Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, Fukushima Prefectural Museum of Art, INNER SPACES / Poland, Chevigny / France, Mouseon / Germany, etc. And many more. Collaboration with butoh dancers Kazuo Ohno, Yoshito Ohno, and the art of Contemporary dance of ”Motoko Hirayama Life-Casting" (new national theater project). Planning and supervision of art festivals such as "Fukushima Biennale" (2004-). His major books include "Text and Image through the Skin" (Seishakusha), "Painting Textbook" (Nippon Bunkyo Shuppan), and "Life Morphology and Art Education -Approach from Shigeo Miki's Anatomy-".
